“Economic Adjustment and Growth in China
and the European Union after the Debt Crisis”
Call for Papers

Centre for Economic Development Research (CEDR) of Wuhan University (P. R. China), and Institute for East Asian Economic Studies/China,University of Duisburg-Essen (Germany) announce the call for papers for an internationalconference,with the theme of “Economic Adjustment and Growth in China and the European Union after the Debt Crisis”,which will be held during September 19-20, 2014at Wuhan University, P.R China.
The primary goal of this conference is to promote research activities in economics and finance both in China and the European Union. The conference will provide an opportunity to share innovative research findings on the policies and growth performance during and after the debt crisis in China and the European Union, especially in those areas of the current macroeconomic situation, advances in institutional change, distribution of income and anti-poverty policy, regional disparities, comparison of the reform of state-owned in China and the public enterprises in the European Union, financial development, financial supervision, exchange rates, structural adjustment of foreign trade, technological upgrade, industrial policy, agricultural development, and environment policy, etc.. We welcome researchers to present their work based on the international benchmarking with the use of modern empirical research methodologies.
The sub-themes may include, but are not limited to the following:
1、 Macroeconomic policy during and after the debt crisis
2、 Growth performance during and after the debt crisis
3. Financial and economic reform in China and the European Union after the debt crisis
4、Restructure of the banking system after debt crisis
5. Dynamics of exchange rates in China and the European Union
6. Employment policy in China and the European Union
7. Industrial policies in China and the European Union
9、Policies of sustainable development in China and the European Union
10. Development of new energes and the adjustment of energy structure
11. Technological innovationand the structural change in China and the European Union
12. Land ownership and agricultural development in China
13. Industrialization and urbanization in China
14. Trade relation and economic cooperation between China and the European Union
Important Dates
Submission of the topics for the conference: April 30, 2014
Submission of extended abstracts (at least 3-4 pages):May 30, 2014
Acceptance of submitted abstracts: June15, 2014
Submission of final papers: August 15, 2014
The extended abstracts and the final papers should include the following information:
----- the title of the proposed paper, ,
----- personal contact details (full name, job title, institutional affiliation, current position, postal address, contact phone, fax, and e-mail address).
There is no registration fee. Participants themselves should cover their own round-trip air tickets,international travel insuranceand accommodation expenses. Free meals are provided during the conference by CEDR. CEDR willalso provide help in arranging visas, hotel and local transportation to and fromWuhanAirportto the hotel.
The preliminary time schedule for the conference is as follows:
Sept.18th, participants arrive in Wuhan
Sept. 19 -20th, the conference days
Sept. 21th, a city tour in Wuhan,
Sept. 22th, participants leave
